Angus and Dundee

Winding, bendy lanes, beautiful moorland and mountain scenery, combined with miles of rugged coastline make this an excellent area for exploration. Dundee itself has a proud maritime and industrial heritage. You can visit the Textile Heritage Centre, one of Europe's premier industrial museums; see the ill-fated Captain Scott's ship, or spend time shopping and eating. Other attractions in the area include the fairytale Glamis Castle, with its links to the late Queen Mother, Arbroath Abbey and Scone Palace, once the crowning place of Scottish kings. In Arbroath itself, make sure to sample the local delicacy; The Arbroath Smokie.
