Bedfordshire
Sometimes unfairly seen as only a part of London’s commuter belt, Bedfordshire has its own separate character. It has a number of important attractions. For those who like animals there is the world-famous Whipsnade Animal Park, and then close by Woburn, with it’s Safari Park, and the Abbey, home to the Dukes of Bedford. Bedfordshire also has important links to the Aircraft industry; in the North of the county you can follow the World War II airfield trail, and see the giant airship hangers at Cardington, recently used in the film “Batman Begins”
