Berkshire

Granted the title of Royal County in the 1950s, Berkshire still has close links with the monarchy; especially with Windsor Castle being the present Queen’s favourite home. Apart from Windsor itself there is plenty to see in Berkshire; from the town and villages along the Thames, such as Abingdon and Wallingford; there is England’s most famous Public School at Eton, and fascinating Country Houses, such as Buscot with its eclectic art collections. Then for those who like the countryside there are the rolling Berkshire downs, dotted with the stables and gallops of some of the most notable racehorse trainers in the country.
