Bristol

Once only second to London, as England’s busiest port, Bristol is still steeped in maritime history although the docks themselves are now more about leisure and tourism than trade. Make sure you visit the SS Great Britain, Brunel’s greatest ship and now a popular and fascinating museum. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is another of Brunel’s works and is an iconic and spectacular landmark, well worth a visit. The Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery Houses important collections, from fossils and wildlife to Old Masters and Modern Art. Bristol is also an excellent place to shop, and has a vibrant nightlife to suit everyone.
