Devon
Like its neighbour Cornwall, Devon is a county of extraordinary contrasts. The same County that contains within it the austere but beautiful Dartmoor, also has the vibrant county town of Exeter with its beautiful Cathedral. Small inland villages abound, with thatched cottages and ancient churches, and then there are the port towns such as Bideford and Lynton. There are also a wide variety of family resorts, such as Torquay, Paignton and Torbay. There is Dartmouth, a Mecca for all sailors.
