Edinburgh and the Lothians

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and its premier tourist destination. Unsurprisingly for such a historic place it is a World Heritage site and has more listed properties than any other place in Britain. Dominated by its imperious castle it is also home to such attractions as Holyrood Palace and Abbey. Edinburgh is also a modern city with a vibrant night life and is as well a cultural centre, with its annual festival as well as much else. The surrounding areas have additional attractions; the iconic Forth Bridge for example, or Linlithgow Palace. In contrast there is the beautiful and peaceful coastline of East Lothian.
