Glasgow, Strathclyde and Dumbartonshire

The largest city in Scotland and truly one of contrasts. Glasgow has worked hard to shake off its old image as a rather drab place and in fact this is far from the truth. The city has a number of attractions and is an important centre for arts and culture. Make sure you visit the Burrell Collection; one of the most important art collections ever put together by one man. See the Glasgow science Centre, including the first tower to revolve through 360 degrees from the ground up. Glasgow has a great nightlife and excellent shopping; everything from the usual department stores to a host of designer outlets.
