HuntingdonshireA small intimate county many of Huntingdon’s landmarks are due to the influence of the River Great Ouse, which snakes through the county. Apart from the attractive countryside Huntingdonshire is probably mainly known for its connections with Oliver Cromwell, and there is a museum devoted to him in Huntingdon itself. The county has beautiful market towns, such as Huntingdon, Godmanchester, St. Neots, Ramsey, with its abbey, and St. Ives. At Hinchingbrooke Country Park you can visit one of the open days at The Iron Age village, and try your hand at weaving or bread making using the techniques of our ancestors. |
