Kent
Kent is a county with something to suit all tastes. The beautiful Wealden countryside, dotted with farms and villages; historic Canterbury with its breathtaking cathedral, and the large number of castles in various stages of preservation, that even if you haven’t seen in real life, you will almost certainly have seen on a cinema screen. Then there is maritime Kent with its protecting forts; from Roman times to the Napoleonic wars, up to more recent times. Add in the seaside resorts; the White cliffs of Dover, and more historic houses than almost any other county in England, and Kent is a county that makes a fine introduction to England, both ancient and modern.
