Leicester itself is a buzzing city. If you have an interest in cuisine, it is one of the curry centres of the country, signalling that this is really a city bridging many different cultures. You can visit Castle Park, Leicester’s “Old Town”, or come bang up to date and see The National Space Museum. In the rest of the county be sure to visit Melton Mowbray and sample some of its local produce, including an authentic pork pie and some Stilton cheese. Go to Lutterworth and follow the history of the invention of the jet engine at the museum.
