London and MiddlesexWhen people think of London they generally think of The West End and The City, with its vast number of historic and modern attractions, but move further out and areas such as Middlesex have much to interest the visitor. There are grand stately homes, such as Syon, Osterley, or Chiswick House. The River Thames is a fascinating place in this area, and has a number of excellent pubs, as well as hidden treasures such as medieval churches. There are places that still retain a village-like character, such as Harrow-on-the Hill or Pinner. Move on to Twickenham and you can see the Rugby museum and the new stadium. |
