Shropshire

Shropshire is a quiet county with pleasant countryside and a range of activities to suit all tastes. It was not always like this of course, and the history of border skirmishes has left its legacy in fine castles such as Ludlow, Stokesay and Clun, as fell as large stretches of Offa's Dyke. Ironically this peaceful rural county was also one of the birthplaces of the industrial revolution, and the ten museums at Ironbridge will tell you the full story. Whilst you are there be sure to see the famous Iron bridge itself; one of the most iconic images in the country. If food is your thing make a trip to Ludlow, where it's wide range of restaurants hold more Michelin stars than anywhere outside London.
