SurreySurrey is considerably more than a glorified suburb of London and has many interesting features. It has excellent country, such as Box Hill, the highest point in the South East, and parts of the North Downs. You can visit Runnymede, scene of the signing of Magna Carta, and now also home to the Kennedy memorial. If gardening takes your fancy then be sure to see the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Wisley. Near Chertsey there is the theme park Thorpe Park. Although a borough in its own right Richmond is still regarded as part of Surrey and well worth seeing for its shops, nightlife and excellent range of historical and modern attractions. |
