Sussex
The South Downs Way starts at Eastbourne, and provides plenty of excellent coastal viewes, such as Beachy Head. The biggest city is of course Brighton, and no visit to the county would be complete without a visit to it's eclectic range of shops and cosmopolitan night time venues. Sussex has many historical buildings too, such as the impressive castles at Arundel, and Pevensey. You will recognise Bodiam from the numerous times it has appeared on cinema screens. See the site of the Battle of Hastings at Battle and visit the abbey there. Fishbourne Palace is one of the most important Roman sites in the country.
