WiltshireWiltshire is an essentially rural county with some of the most beautiful countryside in England. It has something special from every period of English history. From the ancient and mysterious stone circles of Stonhenge and Avebury, through to the magnificence of Salisbury Cathedral- the tallest church in England, and then to more recent times, with the STEAM museum at Swindon giving much background to Brunel and the history of the railway. There are impressive houses at Wilton, and of course, Longleat, with its safari park, and bustling market towns such as Marlborough and Bradford upon Avon. |
